Endless Variations of Form and Color

The same object may inspire an endless variation of form and color on the canvas of an artist. The oil paintings on canvas illustrated in this blog are all variations of tree stumps, mostly just two stumps. These painting were created for an exhibition in April 2007, in the memory of a tree, a tall erect Silver Oak, that had died in the home of the artist and had to be cut down.
